A Bit About Me
In 2004 Mr. Samarel was asked to join a South Florida School as a consultant because they were in financial distress. After spending several years at that school, Mr. Samarel is happy to say that it is doing financially well and continues to support the community.
From there Mr. Samarel was asked to join a team of others to launch a private school in South Florida. It was not only successful but because of a strong beginning the school continues to support the community it began in.
With experience both as a non-profit private school and a for-profit private school, Mr. Samarel teamed with a local business owner in the South Florida area. They began researching the need for a private school that would cater to educate the developmental-disabled community with a heavy emphasis on autism.
In 2003 Mr. Samarel was asked to join Keith Eickert Power Products to become part of the team to take the company though a successful re-organization under the United States bankruptcy laws and the subsequent sale of the company.
In 1992 Mr. Samarel was one of three partners who founded About Fitness, an upscale health club located in Coral Springs, Florida. About Fitness grew quickly and in 1996 the owners were approached by LA Fitness. At the time, LA Fitness had clubs in two states, California and Colorado and was looking to open up Florida. They approached About Fitness because in their words, “it was the best club in Florida”. Today LA Fitness is an international health club.
Mr. Samarel majored in accounting and finance with a minor in education and earned his bachelor’s degree from Queens College in New York.
